Privacy policy

Foodie Assembly is a community site for reviewing dishes in Brunei. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, and how to remove it. We keep it short and plain.

What we collect

• Account details: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
• What you post: reviews, star ratings, the price you say you paid, photos you upload, “helpful” votes, and listings you suggest.
• Sign-in cookies: small cookies that keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
• Basic technical logs: our hosting providers record things like IP addresses and request times to keep the site running and secure.

What we show publicly

Your name and everything you post (reviews, ratings, prices and photos) are public on the site. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Photos and location

Every uploaded photo is resized and re-saved, which removes hidden data such as the GPS location and camera details stored by your phone. We do this to protect everyone, especially home-based sellers whose homes could otherwise be revealed. Please don't post photos that show someone's home address or people who haven't agreed to be photographed.

Why we use your data

• To run your account and show your reviews.
• To calculate dish ratings, rankings and average prices.
• To prevent spam and abuse, for example limiting one review per dish per person.
• To reply if you contact us.

We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Who processes it for us

• Neon stores our database, accounts and photos in its Singapore region.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Google handles sign-in, only if you choose “Continue with Google”.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can edit or delete any review from My reviews, and you can delete your whole account there too. That removes your account, reviews, photos and votes. Listings you suggested that we already published stay up, because they describe businesses, not you.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email akfadhil.ali@gmail.com and we'll reply within 30 days.

Children

Foodie Assembly isn't meant for children under 13, and they shouldn't create accounts.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
